TATWAX Film is a protective cover that prevents skin damage from friction. It provides a WATERPROOF, ANTIBACTERIAL-BARRIER that blocks pathogens and external contaminants from entering the wound. It’s light, FLEXIBLE, and stretchable which allows it to be placed anywhere on the body and will stay put for up to several days.

      Instructions:

Pull an appropriate amount of tape out of the box. Cut the tape, leaving about 1” of tape exposed. The 1st piece should stay on 8-24 hours, its normal for blood and fluids to collect under the film. The 2nd piece can stay on for several days (Max 5 days)

These are simple directions for a quick tattoo healing process that can help you enjoy your new body art sooner and more comfortably. These directions came from top artists around the world. These are the suggested guidelines to follow:

DO NOT TOUCH THE BANDAGE! The bandage was placed by your tattoo artist to prevent airborne bacteria from invading the wound. Open flesh is a breeding ground for infection. Leave the bandage on for a minimum of three hours. For better results, it’s best to leave it on overnight. If you absolutely cannot resist the temptation to show off your tattoo, ask your artist if they can cover it up with clear cellophane wrap. Cellophane wrap lets you view your tattoo without the protective layer being removed. Since your tattoo artist took proper care to ensure that there is no infection produced during the session, it’s now on your shoulders to take proper care of your tattoo.

WHEN REMOVING THE GAUZE: A tattoo is an abrasion that may bleed a little at first but should subside within a few hours. When you attempt to remove the gauze, it may stick. If it does stick to your skin, wet the area with clean water and remove the gauze slowly.

WASH AND TREAT: After removing the bandage, you will want to wash your tattoo. Use lukewarm water and antibacterial soap to completely clean off all ointment and blood residue. Do not use a cloth or any abrasives. Your fingers are the best cleaning tools! Once the tattoo is clean, go ahead and blot the area with a clean dry towel. NO RUBBING!
Apply a thin layer of TATWAX aftercare ointment to the tattoo. TATWAX keeps your tattoo soft and moist. Please use sparingly. Too much can prevent the skin from breathing. DO NOT REBANDAGE. Repeat this cleaning process three times a day for seven to fourteen days. DO NOT USE NEOSPORIN!

Here are some important points to remember:

      • Do not use Vaseline or petroleum-based products on your tattoo.
      • Do not use alcohol to clean your tattoo.
      • Do not pick or rub your tattoo.
      • Avoid direct sunlight, tanning booths, swimming, saunas, steam baths and bathtubs for two weeks.
